Sidewall Markings

This brown liquor bottle from the 19th Century has a Chinese character on the side but no other identifying marks.

This liquor bottle has a star symbol on the side with no other markings. It was dug in an old buried dump in Nelson, BC in 1970.

Here is a liquor bottle having an inverted pointed leaf symbol on the side with no other markings. In a recent publication a similar symbol was shown with the stem pointing down; ie, inverted compared to this one. It was sourced in the USA.

This 6.75" tall liquor bottle was dug in Northern California Feather River Canyon area, near Oroville, CA. It has a slanted "bowtie" or figure eight symbol on the side wall and a similar symbol on the base.
